National Ethnographic Museum of Kruja
The National Ethnographic Museum of Kruja is situated within the Castle of Kruja. The museum was established within the premises of the Toptan family house, a characteristic city house also known as “çardak” built in 1764. The building is a 1st category cultural monument, unique in the Balkan region. The National Ethnographic Museum of Kruja was inaugurated on 20 November 1989. The objects exhibited within the museum’s inner and outer premises, display a full panorama of crafts exercised in Kruja and all over Albania, as well as the way of life 300 years ago. The authenticity of the museum objects, such as ceramic, wood, stone, iron, cotton, silk, wool objects and the various embroidery work, make the museum one of the main destinations of promoting our national heritage values. The age of these objects varies from 60-70 up to 500-years old.

The average duration of the visit within the National Ethnographic Museum of Kruja is around 30 – 40 minutes.
What to see:
A characteristic city house of 1764 has been adapted as the National Ethnographic Museum of Kruja. On the first floor, a full panorama of crafts exercised in Kruja and Albania are displayed. The exhibition begins with blacksmith, terracotta and felt work, continues with the wine and raki distillery, the oil workshop, etc.
The second floor is organized into 5-6 main rooms that show the way of life many years ago.
